Brisbane Events Toolkit

The Brisbane Events Toolkit is a suite of tools and resources to help organisers plan and deliver successful major events. This includes information to identify other approvals that may be required, how to book a Council venue and useful event planning tips. The Brisbane Events Toolkit also includes fact sheets on funding programs and a social media guide.

The toolkit is available free of charge to industry to assist in selling Australia as a business events destination during the pandemic, including use of the campaign assets (logos and gif stickers) on their own websites, social media channels and marketing materials. The content is designed to highlight the key Brisbane Brief themes of innovation, industry strengths, next general talent and major events economy and proximity to world-class attractions and experiences.

To complement the campaign, the Council has been hosting workshops to provide guidance on the planning of an event. One such workshop has been to develop a template for an online portal on Council’s website to provide clear instructions to event committees on topics such as long-term planning, risk management and ensuring financial viability.

As part of the 'Event Here This Year' campaign, HVIA has partnered with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds to support the 2023 Brisbane Truck Show’s first charity concert for mental health. The event will see a series of live performances to promote positive messaging around mental health, and raise funds for the cause.
